Had it back for a couple days now and did 300 miles with no breakdowns or check engine lights. Sure it may smell like big foots nether region in the cab but you can’t beat the practicality of the mighty Promaster. Soooo nice having all my stuff when I need it! For those who missed it basically the door fell off a week before Halloween and then the radiator failed then the transmission failed I’ve had the van for roughly 6 days of  the last 3 + months. But shes running great now.

That thing looks HEFTY! How is it to drive with the metal drawers and everything else that you carry? My roommate is building out a new promaster for camping and I’ve driven it while it only has sound deadening and insulation panels. It’s pretty fun for how big it is at that size but I can’t wait until he is done so I can see the difference in drivability.

These things have to be the worst-made vehicles currently on sale

It drives really great. It’s always pretty loaded but I have even loaded an extra 1000 lbs of mulch in the middle along with all it normally carries   and you couldn’t even tell. The back of mine is stuffed with a heavy shelf and heavy parts. It weighs about 5000 without the shelfs/ cab partition/ and lockers/ safe /parts. Never put it on a scale but I’m guessing it weighs about 7000+ and like I said you can’t even tell. Unfortunately it breaks down a lot.

I have heard better things about the newer ones this is a 14. Do not own a 14. No matter what year it is tell him to buy a 6 pack of headlights. It eats them for breakfast lunch and dinner. Wish I would hav e done ww2 fighter style marks on the side for each one it’s killed. Easily 40+ bulbs at 15-20 dollars each.

Out of all the new-ish looking vans, I like the way the ProMaster looks. Unfortunately the reliability leaves much to be desired...

The earlier Thi r d Gen Fiat Ducato/Citroen Relay/Peugeot Boxer vehicles were incredibly unreliable and many ambulance services got rid of them very quickly. We still have a few left where I am.

Kinja'd!!!

The newer ones are much more reliable but we’ve mostly gone back to the Mercedes Sprinter vehicles.

Not a van I’d like my life to depend on! I’m just fixing robots so no big deal but a Pr omaster ambulance would worry me big time!

They are all ugly but I think the Promaster is super ugly. some angles make it look like a cartoon version of a van. The rears nice and clean just a big box but that front end only a mother could love!
